Welcome to the heart of Steel City Run 2025! The Steel City Run (SCR) is North Karnataka’s premier annual running event, held in the historic and dynamic city of Ballari. Since its inception in 2022, SCR has rapidly grown in stature, becoming a must-attend event for runners across India.
What began with approximately 1150 enthusiastic participants in 2022 soared to over 2500 in 2023 and reached a remarkable milestone of over 4300 runners from all corners of the country in 2024. Categories
Steel City Run 2025 offers three distinct race categories designed to welcome runners of all levels, from seasoned athletes to families looking for a fun day out. Choose the distance that best suits your fitness level and goals!
10k Timed Run: This is our competitive distance for runners aged 15 and above, looking to test their speed and endurance over 10 kilometers. Participants in this category will receive an official timing chip, and their performance will be recorded. Minimum Age: 15+ Registration Fee: ₹500
5k Timed Run: A popular timed option for runners aged 12 and above, perfect for those comfortable with a shorter, faster-paced race or stepping up from shorter distances. The 5k provides an excellent opportunity to gauge your speed and enjoy a competitive environment with an official timing chip. Minimum Age: 12+ Registration Fee: ₹400
3k Majja Run: The “Majja” (Fun) Run is a non-competitive, untimed event open to everyone aged 12 and above. It’s ideal for families, friends, or anyone who wants to soak in the event’s energy and atmosphere without the pressure of time. This is about participation, enjoyment, and promoting health and fitness in a relaxed environment. Walk, jog, or run – it’s your pace! Minimum Age: 12+ Registration Fee: ₹350

Steel City Run celebrates the achievements of our runners!
Prize Money:
Prize money will be awarded to top finishers in the 10k Timed Run and 5k Timed Run categories based on the age group classifications. Please refer to the table below for the detailed prize money structure for each age category (Male and Female).
Important Note: The 4th and 5th place prize money in each age category is exclusively reserved for Ballari localites only.
Presently, there are no additional special prizes announced for overall top finishers outside of these age category awards.
Award Categories: Awards will be given based on the age group categories outlined in the prize money table for the 10k and 5k Timed Runs.
Finisher Rewards: All registered participants who successfully complete their registered distance will receive a Finisher Medal (Exclusive design for timed categories). E-Certificates will be available for download after the results are officially published (With timing for 10k & 5k, Participation for 3k).

Eligibility & Age Limits
Steel City Run welcomes participants from diverse backgrounds and age groups. Please review the eligibility criteria for each race category carefully:
General Eligibility: All participants must be in good health and physically capable of completing the chosen distance. It is recommended to consult a doctor before participating in a running event, especially if you have any pre-existing health conditions.
Age Limit for 10k Timed Run: Participants must be 15 years or older on or before August 3, 2025 (Race Day).
Age Limit for 5k Timed Run: Participants must be 12 years or older on or before August 3, 2025 (Race Day).
Eligibility for 3k Majja Run: Open to participants aged 12 years or older on or before August 3, 2025 (Race Day).
Minors: Participants under the age of 18 must have the explicit consent of a parent or legal guardian to participate. A parent or guardian must complete the registration on their behalf and agree to the event’s terms and conditions.
By registering for any race category, participants confirm that they meet the eligibility criteria and understand the physical demands of the event.

Course Description: The Steel City Run course offers a fast and enjoyable running experience. The route follows a straight out and back layout within a loop, featuring just one single U-turn for all race categories. The terrain is predominantly flat, with only one section presenting a slight elevation, making it an ideal course for those aiming for a personal best. Located slightly on the outskirts of the city, the route offers refreshing views of open fields and the picturesque surrounding hills, providing a scenic backdrop to your run.
Course Support: Routes will be clearly marked with signages and volunteers guiding participants. Traffic will be managed to ensure runner safety, but participants should remain aware of their surroundings.

BIB Distribution
Collecting your Race BIB is mandatory before race day. Your BIB contains your timing chip (for timed categories) and is necessary for participation.
Date & Timings: BIB Distribution will be held exclusively on August 2, 2025. Specific timings yet to be announced.
Venue: The venue for BIB distribution is Yet to Be Announced. Please check this section closer to the event date for the exact location in Ballari.
Important Note: There will be NO provision for BIB collection on Race Day (August 3, 2025) under any circumstances. Please ensure you collect your BIB on August 2nd.
What to Bring:
Your registration confirmation email (printout or digital copy) or SMS.
A valid photo ID (Aadhaar Card, Passport, Driving License, Voter ID).
If collecting on behalf of someone else, you will need an authorization letter signed by the registered participant, a copy of their ID, and your own ID.
Stalls: At present, there is no update regarding stalls at the BIB collection venue.
Plan your arrival in Ballari to ensure you can collect your BIB on August 2nd, 2025.
Aid Stations & Medical Support
Aid Stations & Medical Support
Your safety and well-being are our top priorities. Steel City Run provides ample support along the course and at the finish line.
Aid Stations:
Well-placed aid stations will be located approximately every 1.5 kilometers along the routes.
All aid stations will provide Water.
Most aid stations will also provide Electrolytes and have First Aid Responders available.
Medical Support:
Qualified medical personnel will be stationed at the start/finish area and key points along the routes.
Ambulances will be stationed across the route for any medical emergencies.
If you require medical assistance on the course, please inform the nearest volunteer or medical personnel.
Hydration:
While aid stations are provided, participants are strongly encouraged to stay well-hydrated in the days leading up to the race, especially considering the climate in Ballari.
Listen to your body during the run and don’t hesitate to seek assistance if needed.
Rules & Regulations
To ensure a fair, safe, and enjoyable experience for all participants, please familiarize yourself with the official rules and regulations of Steel City Run 2025.
All participants must adhere to the instructions of race officials, volunteers, and medical staff.
Participants in timed categories (10k & 5k) must wear their issued BIB and timing chip correctly throughout the race.
Cutting the course or receiving unauthorized assistance is strictly prohibited and may lead to disqualification.
Pacing by non-participants is not allowed in the timed categories.
Participants should maintain proper running etiquette, respecting fellow runners and yielding when necessary.
Littering on the course is strictly prohibited.
The use of headphones is discouraged for safety reasons, but not specifically prohibited. However, we recommend being aware of your surroundings.
Baggage Counter: A baggage counter will be available at the start/finish venue, especially for the convenience of outstation runners. Please do not leave valuables in your bags.
Race officials reserve the right to disqualify any participant who violates the rules or acts in an unsportsmanlike manner.
Timing Disputes: Any disputes regarding timing will be reviewed and finalized solely by the Race Director, whose decision will be final.

By Train: Ballari Junction (BAY) is a major railway station with connectivity to cities like Bengaluru, Hubballi, Guntakal, and others.

Or you can also register directly via Whatsapp by messaging us on 6360956614. Only online modes of registration & payment are available. No offline mode of registrations will be entertained. In case you require bulk registrations of more than 25 members, you can message us using the Contact Us page.
Note that registrations will close latest by 15th July 2024, 11:59 PM, or if all our registrations slots are booked, whichever is earlier.

Your race kit (BIB, t-Shirt, and maybe some goodies too), will be distributed a day prior to the event, on 3rd August 2024. The venue for the same would be Hotel Rock Garden (click for map). Timings to collect the kit would be from morning 9:30 AM till 6 PM on 3rd August, 2024.
Please note that BIB and tees will not be given on the race day or later under any circumstance. It has to be collected prior to the event on the BIB collection day only (3rd August, 2024), within the above specified time.

The event is being held in Ballari City. Though the main event venue is on the outskirts of Ballari, reaching there hardly takes 10-20 minutes from any corner of Ballari.
For those coming from outside Ballari, you can try to book your stay near to the city center or near to Durgamma Temple (Map Link), which is again near to the heart of the city. The BIB collection venue as well as the main event venue are hardly 5-10 minutes away from Durgamma Temple area, which is also near to the Railway Station and old Bus stand.
